CHAMBER MUSIC ASSIGNMENT
If you are attending courses with a teacher or professor, he/she will help you to classify your performing level in the application form.

For classification please use the following scale:
Elementary – Pre-intermediate – Intermediate – Advanced – Superior in both of  Student ~ Professional and Amateur ~ Non-professional sections.

Instrumentalists ( other than pianists): please submit an Audio or video recording  containing two contrasting movements on your major instrument before January 31, 2023. We accept recordings in youtube/youku format (link) ONLY (15 minutes maximum), sent to: info@saarburgserenaden.de

The recording should be NOT OLDER than 4 months and represent your best ability, as it will serve as a main source for evaluation of your performing Level. Please indicate the exact date of the recording.

Singers: please submit a VIDEO recording ( as YouTube  link ONLY) of 15 minutes maximum and best possible quality, consisting of 2 contrasting works (please include one cantabile selection and one containing florid passages) suitable for performance in concert to: info@saarburgserenaden.de

Pianists: please submit an Audio or Video recording ( YouTube link ONLY)  of 15 minutes maximum and best possible quality, consisting of 2 contrasting works or sections ( one – solo and one – chamber Music work whenever possible) suitable for performance in concert to: info@saarburgserenaden.de

ASSEMBLING OF THE CHAMBER GROUPS

Resgistration has been closed except for the cases when special arrangements were made with invited faculty !!!

After the application deadline on January 31, 2023, the Festival´s organizational staff will assemble chamber groups from registered participants using their audition tape and faculty recommendation (if available)  based on “classification scale” from the application form. Ensembles will be completed with respect to level of studies, age and performing experience. In addition your ensemble and repertory preferences will be taken into consideration.

You will receive from the Festival by e-mail chamber music assignments by June 1st, 2023.

Saarburg Festival expects that all participants will provide their own music materials.

Singers will be provided with the printed Music they  are assigned to study and perform during the Festival.

Please remember and remind your students that high Level of preparation of individual members of ensemble will secure satisfaction of the work for entire chamber group during rehearsal/coaching and concert performances at the festival.

We encourage applications of Pre – formed chamber groups and grant 150 euro discount to each member of such group. The pre-formed chamber group should consist of minimum 3 members and demonstrate a record of a reasonable term of working/performing together.

Members of Pre-formed chamber groups, receiving 150 euro discount, are not eligible for any additional financial aid.

CHAMBER MUSIC INDIVIDUAL LESSONS
The availability of individual lessons for the chamber repertoire to the participants of Saarburg Festival is one of the fundamental components of the festival. Two individual lessons will be provided for participants requiring extra assistance with chamber music parts by their tuition. Aside from the Festival-organized programs there is the opportunity to arrange extra individual or chamber lessons with any faculty member at an additional charge. The Festival´s recommended price is 75 euro per 60 minutes lesson. The arrangements should be made between teacher and student and coordinated with the persons in charge of schedule.
