CHAMBER MUSIC ASSIGNMENT
If you are attending courses with a teacher or professor, he/she will help you to classify your performing level in the application form.

For classification please use the following scale:
Elementary – Pre-intermediate – Intermediate – Advanced – Superior 

Instrumentalists ( other than pianists): please submit an Audio or video recording  containing two contrasting movements on your major instrument before January 31, 2024. We accept recordings in YouTube/youku format (link) ONLY (total timing between 10 & 15 minutes), sent to: info@saarburgserenaden.de

The recording (s) should be NOT OLDER than 4 months and represent your best ability, as it will serve as a main source for evaluation of your performing Level.

Singers: please submit a VIDEO recording  as YouTube  link ONLY of 10 to 15 minutes in total duration and best possible quality, consisting of 2 contrasting works (please include one cantabile selection and one containing florid passages) suitable for performance in concert to: info@saarburgserenaden.de

The recording (s) should be NOT OLDER than 4 months and represent your best ability, as it will serve as a main source for evaluation of your performing Level.

Pianists: please submit Video recording (s), as YouTube link ONLY  of total 10 to 15 minutes duration and best possible quality, consisting of 2 contrasting works or sections ( one – solo and one – chamber Music work whenever possible) suitable for performance in concert to: info@saarburgserenaden.de

For all students:

Please label your recording(s) with your full name and instrument, provide full proper titles of the recorded selections and indicate the exact date of the recording (s). 

ABSOLUTELY NO OTHER FORMATS OR HUGE SOUND FILES PLEASE !!! 

NO use of selfies for the recordings please, as they often come out with contorted (mirrored) picture (left hand holding of the bow for string players for example or contorted faced and body) !!!

NO recordings with amplification please.

Carefully review your recording (s) before submitting them to us for quality of sound and performance level. We strongly recommend that you send your audition recordings to your respsective teacher for review and approval prior to submitting them to us. A recording of poor quality makes it impossible to judge your performance fairly.

Please make sure that the recordings you submit are accessible to us (not designated for private use only) and have no viewing limitation date.

ASSEMBLING OF THE CHAMBER GROUPS

After the registered applicants paid their entire tuition ( deadline is April 20, 2024), the Festival´s organizational staff will start the process of repertoire selection and assembling of the chamber groups. Ensembles will be formed with respect to performing level, age and performing experience.

You will receive from the Festival by e-mail chamber music assignments by June 1st, 2024.

Saarburg Festival expects that all participants will provide their own music materials in editions indicated in their respective repertoire assignments. Chamber music selections (full scores or/and including individual parts) unavailable in public domain will be emailed.

Singers will be provided with the printed Music they  are assigned to study and perform during the Festival.

Please remember and remind your students that high Level of preparation of individual members of ensemble will secure efficiency and satisfaction of the work for entire chamber group during rehearsal/coaching and concert performances at the festival.

We encourage applications of Pre – formed chamber groups and grant 150 euro discount to each member of such group. The pre-formed chamber group should consist of minimum 3 members and demonstrate a record of a reasonable term of working/performing together.

Members of Pre-formed chamber groups, receiving 150 euro discount, are not eligible for any additional financial aid.

Aside from the Festival-organized activities there is the opportunity to arrange extra individual or chamber lessons with any faculty member at an additional charge. The Festival´s recommended price is 75 euro per 60 minutes lesson. The arrangements should be made between teacher and student (s) and coordinated with the person in charge of schedule.
