Stage Director: Oliver Kloeter

Oliver Kloeter_photoOliver Klöter studied opera-directing and film-directing at the Acadey of music in Vienna.  At that time he started working with directors such as Robert Carsen, David Alden, Christof Nel, Michael Hampe and  Günter Krämer at opera-houses like Vienna State Opera, Munich State Opera, Salzburg Easter Festival, Theater an der Wien, Theater St. Gallen, Teatro la Fenice, Opera Cologne etc.

His first own productions was Schönbergs “Pierrot lunaire” in Vienna 1995. Oliver Klöter works as directors in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Nicaragua. His productions include operas like “The Turn of the Screw”, “Tosca”, “Idomeneo” (Mozart/Strauss), “I Capuleti e i Montecchi”, “Magic Flute”, “Fidelio”, “Iphigenie auf Tauris” (Gluck/Strauss) etc. For the Musiktriennale Cologne, a music festival for new music, he directed an orchestra for a work by Mauricio Kagel.

Mr. Klöter also was managing director until 2009 for the Forum Tiberius – International Forum For Culture And Economics in Dresden. This institution organizes music competitions such as the “Competizione dell’Opera” (voice), the “Anton G. Rubinstein-Competition” (piano) and events concerning cultural-political issues.

Oliver Klöter teaches at the Academy for Music and Dance in Cologne from 2008 on. As a guest-lecturer he teaches at the Conservatory Maastricht, Jeunesses Musicales Germany and the Opernakademie Henfenfeld.”
