Piano: Lianping Zhu


Professor Lianping Zhu has been a member of the piano faculty at Wuhan Conservatory of Music in People’s Republic of China over thirty years, where she teaches a mixture of undergraduate and graduate students.  Her research in areas of piano literature and pedagogy is widely recognized and published.

Mrs. Zhu has performed internationally as a concert pianist. She toured Europe as a solo pianist with orchestras. As an active collaborative pianist, Mrs. Zhu was awarded “Piano Accompaniment award” by the Ministry of Culture, General office of Broadcasting and Television, the Chinese Musicians Association, and other organizations.

She has published 20 papers in the Huang Zhong, Music Creation, People’sMusic, PianoArt music journals and other professional journals.  She received “First Prize Awarded Paper” from the Hubei Province Department of culture.  She has also published four piano education books.

In her three decades of teaching career, she has trained a group of outstanding students, some of them are renowned International pianists, piano educators, academic elites, national and international piano contest winners.

She has judged “The Fifth National College Music Education Piano Competition”, “Hong Kong Asian Piano Competition”, “Macao Youth Music Competition – Piano Competition”, “Yangtze River Cup Piano Competition”, and “Yangtze River Spring Young Musician Competition”.
